How to Adjust the Acceleration Time Parameters on a TECO Inverter
Improper acceleration time settings are a frequent cause of OC faults and are among the parameters most often adjusted during on-site commissioning.
For TECO inverters, the acceleration time parameter codes are Bn-01 (Acceleration Time 1) and Bn-03 (Acceleration Time 2); the corresponding deceleration times are Bn-02 and Bn-04. Some series also use 00-09 as Acceleration Time 1. The setting range is 0.1–3600.0 s, and the factory default is usually 10.0 s.
Adjustment principles: If the acceleration time is too short, a large starting inrush current may trigger an OC fault. If it is too long, the equipment response speed will be affected. For variable-torque loads such as fans and pumps, the acceleration time can be extended appropriately to 15–30 s. For applications requiring fast response, it can be shortened appropriately after confirming that the load is normal, but the V/f curve and torque boost parameters must be adjusted accordingly.
Troubleshooting tips: If the OC fault occurs during acceleration (OC-A), adjust Bn-01 first. If it occurs during deceleration (OC-D), adjust the deceleration time Bn-02. The S310 series clearly distinguishes “overcurrent during acceleration” from “overcurrent at constant speed,” allowing precise diagnosis based on the fault code.
